I have always been a huge fan of smoothies, especially for a quick breakfast to-go that will keep you full. Lately, I've been converting my boyfriend to a smoothie-lover too and, in doing so, have been challenged with making banana-less smoothies since he's somewhat allergic to them. Here are some easy smoothie recipes with and without bananas for you to try.

Mixed Berry
1 c. almond milk
5 frozen strawberries
1/4 c. frozen blueberries
1 scoop soy protein
1 c. spinach

Blend everything together. If needed, add ice cubes. You can also use other berries, but I don't like how blackberries and raspberries leave seeds in my smoothies.

Tropical Berry
1 c. almond milk
4 frozen strawberries
1/4 c. frozen blueberries
1/4 c. frozen pineapple
1 tbsp. honey (optional)
1 scoop soy protein

Blend everything together.  If needed, add ice cubes. The pineapple may be a bit sour, so you can add some honey. Another good fruit to try is frozen mango.

My Usual
1 c. almond milk
1 frozen banana
4 frozen strawberries
1 scoop soy protein

Blend everything together. The banana, if frozen, is great for texture; so, you shouldn't need ice.

Chicken Salad Chick

A friend of mine was just put on a paleo-type diet by her doctor, which inspired me to open up the Blog and write.  Today, I picked up Chicken Salad Chick for lunch and brought it home for my boyfriend and me.  This is one of my recent-favorite places!  The people are always friendly, and it always seems so fresh.

I learned, when I was ordering, that you can order an extra scoop of chicken salad as your side, which is great because most of the sides are not paleo-friendly! Oh, and you can also add lettuce, tomato, and bacon to your sandwich--though without the bread. ;)

My Order: The Chick (one scoop + one side) with Fruity Fran (scoop) and Fancy Nancy on the side. These chicken salads only have fruit and nuts in them, so nothing that is anti-paleo. Look closely at the ingredients though, some of them have cheese included.

Of course, their meals come with cookies that are not paleo-friendly, so ask for no cookie. They also come with a pickle. And, you can have a Salad on the side if you're feeling that instead.
